IPL 2011 schedule has just been announced. The BCCI today declared via a press statement that the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League will feature all 10 teams participating in the auction, but the teams will play only 14 games each – 7 at home and 7 away. There will be 70 League matches in all, followed by four teams going into the same play-off structure that was previously announced with the top 2 teams clashing with each other, and similarly for teams 3 and 4.

However, instead of each team playing each other home and away – thereby competing in 18 games each, the league has announced that each side will play against five teams home and away, two teams at home only, and the remaining two teams away only.

Which team plays which opponents (home and away / home only / away only) will be determined by a random draw, which will take place at 11:00 am on Sunday, 9 January 2011, before the start of day two of the IPL Player Auction

The season will commence as originally scheduled on Friday, 8 April 2011, and will conclude with the IPL final on Saturday, 28 May 2011. Below posted is the finalized schedule for IPL cricket games 2011

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 will be the 10th World Cup. Prior to the ICC Cricket WC 2011, 9 Cricket World Cups have been organized by ICC. Australia have emerged winner on the most occasions – 4. Closely following is West Indies, who won the inaugural and the very next World Cup. All the Indian Subcontinent teams – India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won 1 World Cup each. Australia won in 1987, 1999, 2003 and 2007. West Indies won on 1975 (the first World Cup) and 1979. India won the World Cup in 1983, Pakistan won the World Cup in 1992 and Sri Lanka won in 1996.

The final fixtures of ICC Cricket World cup 2011 has been announced with India taking Bangladesh in the opening match. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be the hosts with Mumbai hosting the final of the Cricket world cup 2011 game. It seems ICC took lessons from 2007 world cup and has divided the teams in two groups so that big teams qualify.

Group B - India and Bangladesh, England, Ireland, Netherlands, West Indies and South Africa.

India will tour to South Africa (Ind vs SA) in December 2010. This is also expected to be the fight for No 1 rank on the ICC Test rankings (India is also playing Australia before this, the outcome of that series will also have an impact on the ICC test rankings).

India play first test match against South Africa at Sahara supersport park stadium in Centurion from 16th to 20th December and then boxing day test match at Kingsmead in Durban from decades old prosperous date of 26th December. Third and final test match begins 2nd January at Newlands ground in Cape town. India then move to soccer world cup venue of Moses Mabhida Stadium to play one off twenty20 international on 9th January. India will start their ODi series from 12^th of January 2011 at Kinsmead, Durban. The 2^nd ODI will be played on 15^th of January ay Johannesburg. Third, Fourth and Fifth one day matches will be played on 18^th, 21st and 23^rd of January at Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Centurion respectively.

BCCI have announced the schedule for New Zealand’s tour of India scheduled in November 2010. The teams will play three Tests and five one day international matches. The first Test starts on November 4 and 5 one day internations. and will be played in Ahmedabad. The second and third Tests will be played in Kanpur (November 12) and Mumbai (November 20). The One Day International series matches will be held in Guwahati, Mohali, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. All ODI matches would be Day Night except Guwahati which does not have facility to host Day/Night matches due to lack of Infrastructure there.

Champions League T20 2010 will be hosted in SouthAfrica this year. The tournament going to be played with 10 teams from 6 countries will start on September 10 and the finals will be on sept 26. Last year (2009) 12 teams participated in the tournament but this time no teams from England will participate. The number of matches will be 23 same as last years as the tournament’s format is changed.

Champions League T20 2010 – Schedule:

Australia will be traveling to India(in October 2010) ahead of next years 2011 ICC  Cricket World Cup looking to avenge it’s 2-0 Test series defeat from  2008.  Australia will be playing a warm-up game in Mohali against TBC from 27th to 29th of September, 2010. The ICC Test rankings are at stake at this high profile clash.
